We hope you are off to a fantastic start to 2023. The markets have already been given a lot to handle, from regional bank stress to commercial real estate worries and whatever else the near future holds. We believe the next six to twelve months will be extremely difficult from a market volatility perspective. We, here at Grinnell Capital, believe we have entered an environment where effective active management will be directly correlated to the successful navigation of the market.

As a reminder, we run a tactical style, always cognizant of where the broad economy is headed as we believe sectors of the market are heavily influenced by the macro situation.  In terms of stock selection, we run an all-cap core model to capture opportunities in growth and value.   We endeavor to outperform major indices over a market cycle send me a message for our fact sheets [email protected].

We understand the pressure financial advisors are under from a fee perspective, and we want to be an ally. Effective 4/1/23 we are lowering our fees to .50% for Momentum Model and .25% for Momentum ETF as we look to be more competitive with actively managed mutual funds.

• LOWER FEE! All accounts in the Momentum Model will go from 1-1.5% ➡️ 0.5% regardless of AUM. The minimum remains $100K.

• FEWER HOLDINGS! We are decreasing the number of stocks to increase the weightings of our highest conviction ideas. The average portfolio will be reduced from 50-60 stocks down to ~30.

• CASH MANAGEMENT! We now hold our "dry powder" in ultra short duration treasuries which typically yield ~4%. This still allows for the flexibility of seizing buying opportunities meanwhile earning interest on our cash.

Momentum ETF Model

• LOWER FEE! All accounts in the Momentum ETF Model will go from 0.25%-0.5% ➡️ 0.25% regardless of holding a Momentum account or not.

• LOWER MINIMUM! The minimum for this model is now $2,500.

• CASH MANAGEMENT! Same strategy as the Momentum Model, capturing a ~4% yield.
